Steven has extensive experience working for local communities having held many senior management roles in local government and having worked in the Gippsland Region all his career.

Prior to taking on the role of CEO at Latrobe City in 2019, Steven has held a diverse range of roles in the Local Government sector, managed a small business for seven years and has also worked in the private sector.

Steven led the development of significant major infrastructure investments in the Latrobe City community including the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre and Gippsland Performing Arts Centre. He has also led the development of major policy initiatives, improving service delivery, and the response and recovery from emergencies and natural disasters.

Steven’s leadership is defined by a collaborative approach, ensuring that local businesses, residents, and stakeholders are engaged in decision-making processes that shape Latrobe City’s future.

Steven’s formal qualifications are in Engineering and in Business Administration. He is also a graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and is passionate about developing the leadership capabilities of his teams.

Steven has a passion for local government and making a difference for Latrobe City. Steven Piasente remains committed to driving sustainable economic development, improving infrastructure, and enhancing service delivery to continue to support Gippsland’s Regional City as a thriving City to live, work, invest and visit.
