ONE GIPPSLAND RESPONDS TO TIMBER INDUSTRY PACKAGE

One Gippsland welcomes the additional funding announced by the State Government yesterday to support the local timber industry as Victoria transitions away from native timber logging.
 
This package reflects the sentiments of One Gippsland’s advocacy to ensure that impacted workers, businesses and the broader community are adequately provided for and supported through the transition.
 
 One Gippsland’s ongoing focus will be to ensure that no one is left behind in light of the decision to end native timber harvesting ahead of schedule, and we will continue to work with the Government to ensure that impacted workers and the broader community are adequately provided for.
 
Ensuring this support sufficiently meets the need will be a key point of discussion for One Gippsland in ongoing advocacy with the Government. One Gippsland will continue to advocate for local benefits for local people.
