Cr Scott Rossetti - CHAIR

Born and raised in Wellington Shire, after 14 years in Melbourne studying and working, Cr Rossetti returned with wife Caroline and their three children in 1995 to purchase the family business, Gippsland Funeral Services.

Cr Rossetti has extensive business experience, having successfully run his own businesses for more than 45 years as well as accounting experience with KPMG Peat Marwick. He holds a diverse array of qualifications, including a Master of e-Business, a Bachelor of Business, and a Graduate Diploma in Civil Ceremonies. In addition, he is a certified A-Grade Electrician and an experienced Civil Celebrant.

Cr Rossetti has provided service on several boards, including Advance TAFE (past Chair), the Australian Funeral Directors Association, Gippsland Grammar School and 3PBS Broadcasting. Cr Rossetti continues to be involved and have membership in many community groups including the Committee for Wellington (past Chair), Tanderra Ski Club Mt Hotham (past President), Sale Bowls Club (past Treasurer) and the Sale Turf Club Foundation (Current Director).

Cr Rossetti was elected to Council in 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024, appointed Deputy Mayor in 2009 and 2021 and then Mayor in 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2024. Cr Rossetti is the first Wellington Shire Councillor to hold the Mayoral office for a third term and in doing so being awarded “Mayor Emeritus”.

In 2010, Cr Rossetti was appointed the Chair of the Gippsland Local Government Network and was re-appointed to this position in 2013.
