Cr Annemarie McCabe - Deputy Chair

Mayor, Baw Baw Shire Council

Annemarie McCabe grew up in Melbourne and moved to Mirboo North for a tree change before moving to Drouin, where she has lived for 10 years.

As an active member of the community having worked as a nurse and now as a paramedic, Annemarie has a good appreciation of Baw Baw Shire. Being a mother to four daughters has seen Annemarie get involved in several community groups including scouts, sporting clubs and school Council.

Annemarie chose to run for Council to give the community a voice. With an interest in community health and wellbeing, Annemarie believes that Council is more than just roads, rates and rubbish.

While still a crucial aspect of Council, she believes it is important to consider all areas that the community needs to thrive in our Shire. This includes the need for a new hospital, a university and a Spotlight!

In her position as West Ward Councillor and now Mayor, Annemarie looks to encourage more women to consider leadership roles throughout Council and within the community.
